Bio
Claus Wahlers started his career as a C++ developer in the early 90s, creating online banking applications for leading German banks. Many projects and some years later, in the late 90s, it was time for a change, it was time for the "new economy" and the fascinating possibilities of the World Wide Web, and Claus started contracting more and more web projects. Bored by cross-browser issues with HTML and JavaScript, he discovered the power of ECMA-style scripting in Flash 5 and joined the Flash community. Always trying to push the limits, Claus was one of the first to release a tool that easily converts JPEG images to SWFs, called JPEG2SWF. Some of his more recent projects are DENG, a W3C-compliant ActionScript engine rendering XML documents styled by CSS, and FC64, a low level Commodore 64 emulator written in Actionscript 3.
Today, Claus lives in São Paulo, Brazil and is an independent software developer focussing on the Flash Platform.
