fmx/06 realtime film festival

Next stop: Realtime Film Festival!

The Realtime Film Festival (May 02 – 04, 2006) is one of the most exciting and innovative parts of fmx/06 – the 11th International Conference on Animation, Effects, Realtime and Content (May 03 - 06, 2006), cooperating with the International Festival of Animated Film Stuttgart (April 27 – May 02, 2006).
The Realtime Film Festival is a barometer for technological and aesthetic change. It showcases presentations, workshops, screenings and innovative films, produced using digital technologies. A film is not selected for simply being well produced. It must be judged for its innovation - regardless of platform, budget, vision or storyline.  And one of the most outstanding factors of the festival is: It’s part of fmx/06. Leaving its technological and aesthetical roots behind the realtime film scene has evolved into a lively existence – extending far beyond popular confines of web, game and cinema.
And it has a lively atmosphere:
Like-minded people give each other a friendly welcome – because it's good to meet in Stuttgart! Professionals contact producers and self-assured newcomers make their first contacts. For thousands of filmmakers, industry experts, media representatives, programmers and artists, fmx/06 is a sure mark in their calendar.  They come from all over the world to see familiar faces, meet friends again, hear the latest news and information and get the ball rolling on new projects. The highlight of the Realtime Film Festival is the Realtime Award. The best films in 5 categories will be awarded with special prizes on Thursday, May 04.
