Discovering Beautiful Data (workshop will be held in English) :..::..: check out Gary's other workshop about New Constructs
Flash 8 has introduced several amazing new features that compel us to rethink our limits, our possibilities, and even the process by which we achieve our creations. It has opened the door to many imaginative possibilities for creating previously impossible experiences in our work. Several of Flash's new features have shifted the focus from vectors to bitmaps, giving us the capability for integrating real time motion effects into our work for the first time. My own personal challenge has been in finding ways to introduce the real time effects in ways that enhance the work and in the end produce a more meaningful user experience. This presentation will focus on the data that underlies the bitmapData object, the filters and effects at our disposal to manipulate that data, and some of my creative solutions and outcomes that I hope will educate and inspire.
