Welcome to the Club - Making a VJ Tool with Flash (workshop will be held in English)

The combination of graphics, typography, animation and video with the ability to manipulate and script them in real-time makes Flash a
perfect platform for a live performance tool. By using ExternalInterface it is even possible to extend the Flash 8 capabilites by interfacing to MIDI controls or allow for live sound frequency analysis. Mario Klingemann has combined these functions with a graphical programming engine into a very versatile VJ tool. In his session he will demonstrate the abilities of the application and will allow a peek into its inner workings.

Mario Klingemann Mario Klingemann alias Quasimondo explores the grey area that is located somewhere in between Code, Design, and Art and thinks that "computational artisan" is the label that comes closest to describe his current profession. Whilst the focus of his research are the secrets of computer-generated beauty and artificial creativity, he also provides solutions to real-world problems especially if they are related to Flash or Processing and publishes his findings on Quasimondo.com.
