Interactive Maps as CMS (workshop will be held in German)
As every year - the flashconference features a workshop
on business
applications.
This year, J. Buchholz' workshop presents a business application for
interactive maps - completely realized in flash!
Flash technology has interesting features for internet published maps:
the specifics of the flash player conveniently combines vector- and
bitmap-data. Therefore flash based maps look very esthetic and are
customized to client's and user's needs. Even huge amounts of data can
be loaded without any performance problems - because of flash's
incredible streaming technology.
Especially tourism information platforms and city portals can profit
from this system! It has an integrated editor in the back-end, a
viewer,
with navigation and search functions in the front-end and a easy to use
CMS (content management system), where own icons can be placed on a map
and linked to additional information like text or pictures.
